We’ve introduced a new feature in Uniware that lets sellers link multiple scan identifiers (EANs) to a single SKU. This makes it easier to manage products that need different EANs due to regional labeling rules or customs requirements.
Now, sellers can scan any of the assigned EANs across workflows, making order processing smoother and more efficient.
In Uniware, multi-EAN scanning support is supported for the following:
Traceability | multi-EAN support |
None, SKU, and Item Trace | A new import Additional Scan Identifiers against SKUs has been created to update multiple scan identifiers (EANs) against a single SKU code to complete the inventory management based on the EAN barcodes available on the product. |
None, SKU, and Item Trace | A new export Additional Scan Identifiers to enable you to check the additional scan identifiers added against an SKU. |
None, SKU, and Item Trace | A new export Scan Identifier Inventory Reconciliation to enable you to check the different scan identifiers taken in and out of the warehouse, so that you can have an overview of available inventory in the warehouse. |
None, SKU / Batching | We have enabled scanning of EANs during inbound GRN. |
All except Item Trace | We have enabled scanning of EANs during inbound putaway. |
All except Item Trace | We have enabled scanning of EANs during inbound put at shelf. |
All except Item Trace | We have enabled scanning of EANs during outbound picklist. |
All except Item Trace | We have enabled scanning of EANs during outbound gatepass. |
Applicability
Version: Standard, Professional and Enterprise clients
Traceability: As mentioned in the table abive.

Important Points
- These scan identifiers can be used in any web based workflows. However, only scan support is available. The drop downs will not have the support for multi-EAN functionality. Below are two cases of dropdowns multi-EAN support:
- Gatepass: Not available in SKU selection Workflow
- Gatepass : Available in SKU scanning workflow
- GRN : Not available in SKU selection workflow
- GRN: Available in SKU scanning workflow
- Gatepass: Not available in SKU selection Workflow
Limitations
- The scan support is not yet available on HHD workflows.
- Integration support is not available for Additional Scan Identifiers.
- Inventory Management is not yet available for Additional Scan Identifiers. Due to this, seller cannot see shelf wise inventory for each identifier separately. However, an alternative is available for EAN inventory reconciliation:
- An export is available with name ‘Scan Identifiers Inventory Reconciliation‘.
- The inbound & outbound scans are being captured for below processes:
- Inbound:
- GRN Scanning
- Putaway Returns Scanning (Unified Returns)
- Putaway Gatepass Items
- Outbound:
- Packing Workflow
- Gatepass
- Inbound:
- Sellers can use this report to check total inwarded and outwarded within a specified date range.
